Travel Diaries: Paris, Day 1

Musée du Louvre

Our first official day in Paris was full of art, since we decided to spend it in museums. In the morning, we went to the Louvre, one of my favourites! As the art lover she is, my sister was really excited to see all the amazing masterpieces in there!

I didn't take many pictures in there, but I could grab a piece of one of my favourite (and most well-known) sculptures there: la Vénus du Milo, which you can see above. Getting to know the whole museum is a bit too difficult, but I could say we got to see quite a lot. From ancient Egypt to the renaissance, we had a quick tour and an amazing morning.

After such a long walk in the Louvre, we were really tired and hungry, but didn't want to spend a long time having lunch. So we went our to rue Rivoli and searched for a bistrot where we could have something quick. I chose to have a croque monsieur, one of my favourite french dishes. I also ate a lot of bread! You can't even imagine!

We then spent the afternoon at Centre Pompidou, seeing a unique collection of modern and contemporary art. These periods are probably my sister's favourites, so it definitely was a great time! Here are some pictures of the best things I saw:

After a day full of culture and art, we decided to go to Champs Elysées to have dinner. We went to Café George V, where we spent the next hour or so (maybe even more, we took our time eating!). The place lies in the middle of the avenue, which means that while you're eating, you get to see both Paris natives and tourists all the time! And what caught my attention at the first moment were the chairs: they have the shape of lips!

We had delicious champagne with raspberry licquor and made our first toast for all the adventures that had just started on this amazing trip.

And after the toast, it was time for dinner. We started with pastries with mint, followed by Parisienne salad and a typical French duck. For dessert, we had a Nutella crepe (which was sadly gone before I could take a picture). It was a huge dinner, but it was absolutely delicious! Although I still vote for street crepes as the best in the world!

Travel Diaries: Welcome to Paris!

La Tour Eiffel

As I've mentioned several times before, this summer is very special to me because I'm travelling in Europe (it's actually only a few places in France and Italy, but let's call it Europe for now) with my sister. I've been here several times, but it's her first time! I'm so exited to show her around and to get to know new and exciting places with my favourite person in the whole world!< We arrived in Paris last Wednesday, after a VERY long flight! However, we were both so excited that, even if we were really, really tired, we decided to go out to see the Tour Eiffel and then have a quick supper.

It was already dark by the time we checked in at the hotel, but the good thing is that it's located a few blocks away from the tower... So after we changed our clothes and had some water to drink, we went for food! We'd been starving for most of the day (flight food isn't the best, is it?) so we just went to the first decent place we could see at the Rue du Theatre. It was a creperie contemporaine, meaning we had to have crepes!

I chose the emmental & tomato, while my sister decided to have an emmental, ham & mushroom. Mine was absolutely delicious, and hers... Well, she devoured it before I could even think I wanted to try it! We had them with a cup of cappuccino and then we were out to go for our walk to the Tour Eiffel. I personally believe street crepes are the best, and they were at least better than the one I ate that night, but it was a decent meal after such a long day!

We got to the Eiffel Tower at the moment when the lights were flashing, marking midnight! It was beautiful and I would have paid to have a picture of my sister's face when she saw them. I'm not sure about it, but I think I wouldn't be completely lying if I said she couldn't believe she was in Paris at that moment! Finally! She'd been dreaming of it for SO long!

And this was all our tourism on the first day night in Paris. Very tired after a whole day inside a plane, we went to bed and had a few hours of sleep!

Bisous,

Travel Style: I Refuse To Wear Tracksuits!

As I mentioned before, I'll be in Europe this summer. And that meant I just landed on a flight that's over 10 hours long! To me, that's a bit of a royal pain, since I can't stand being held in the same place for too long. The only reason that keeps me going during those flights is the excitement to get to my destination and have an amazing time!

But I could never ever travel if I'm uncomfortable. Probably high heels are not the best decision when on these flights (although I haven't even dared to try it, yet!), but neither are tracksuits! I understand they are comfy, and you can go ahead and wear them if you really like them, but I could never do that. Never.

However, there are many comfortable options besides tracksuits. I wrote a post back in April where I shared an outfit I wore to college, where I chose leggings as the best option. I did the same when I chose my travel outfit to come to Paris: leggings are always my most comfortable option! And sneakers. I love this super stylish sneakers Diego helped me get before packing!

As you might have noticed by now, I won't get over my sister's graduation from High School... Or maybe I will! This is the last post I'll write about it, I promise!

But how can I not write about such an amazing achievement? Something I've learnt from my baby sis is that whenever we really want something and we work with all our energies to achieve it, we will! That's exactly what she did to achieve her graduation: work hard towards an objective she was looking forward for the past four years! And she finally did it! I'm so happy and proud!!!

I honestly hope I can apply her teachings in every single aspect of my life!

The Little White Dress

The Little White Dress

The Little White Dress

Nothing says summer like a little white dress! It's the perfect piece of clothing for a fresh, elegant, look. That's why I decided to wear this amazing one for my sister's graduation back on Saturday. I decided to give it a touch of colour, wearing blue accessories.

For the jewellery, I chose gold. To me, it brightens up any outfit more than silver, especially on a sunny day! I'm not much of an earring person, but I do love bracelets and watches. So I chose to wear two watches in my wrist and about 6 bracelets.

Graduation Tea Party

Graduation Tea Party

My super best friend Maria (who is the loveliest person on Earth) decided to host a tea party to celebrate my beautiful sister's graduation from high school last Tuesday. It was an amazing evening, surrounded by our dearest friends (or, should I say family?)

We drank tea (duh, it was a tea party!), ate lots and lots of pudding, and had lots of fun! But what's most important, my baby definitely had the time of her life! She was the happiest person in the world, I could say!

Don't you just adore tea parties? And... Isn't Maria the best (although I can't say any of my other friends is any worse than her...)? I'm so, so glad to be surrounded by all these amazing people! I honestly wish our friendship will stay like this forever!
