One thing I really love about Monaco is that it's a calm little town, where you can enjoy of all the luxurious pleasures you can imagine. My mum always says that even if you don't enjoy them yourself, just seeing people who are usually well-dressed, women with beautiful purses and jewellery, men driving the best cars and –sometimes, as it happened to me a few years ago– being only a few meters away from the royal family makes a trip to Monaco.
On our only day in this little paradise, we had enough time to do some tourism, go shopping and eat, eat, eat! I think the photos (which are a whole ton, I know) speak better than my words...
We started the day visiting the Royal Palace and enjoying the view from up there.
One thing that you'll always see in Monaco is flowers! They are absolutely everywhere! And I, with my huge flower obsession, couldn't help but noticing––and photographing––them!
We had lunch at the Café de Paris, just besides the Casino. We chose salmon ravioli and Roquefort salad, and I would never ever change it for any other option. It was nothing but delicious!
We went shopping after lunch, and then back to the hotel to have some tea. We then went out in the evening to drink something in the terraces right across the street from the Hotel de Paris. There was a jewellery taking place in the hotel, so it was full of people, but they were all beautifully dressed! I wish I was The Sartorialist or something, to take pictures of them all!
We also saw the cars, took a classic picture in front of the Casino...
Now that I think about it, there's a little anecdote I always remember when I think of Monaco. When I was in High School, I used to joke around with my best friend about how enormous our yachts would be and how we'd spend our summers in the Mediterranean when we'd grow up. I don't know if this will ever come true, but I must say I do miss those times talking with him about yachts, ponies and cars!
Love,
