One of the things I love the most about New York is the amazingness of window displays; they are absolutely magical! Among my favourites, Bergdorf Goodman will probably win the prize for the most creative and wonderful displays––and I guess the tourists that stand in awe in front of them every day can attest to that!

Every single time I walk past the BG window displays, I can't help but love them... Which is why I decided I should take some pictures of them. And this was just perfect for the Halloween mood of the weekend––which, to me, was mostly about seeing The Village Halloween Parade and staying at home drinking tea and being happily warm.

Sunday Sunshine

For one of my classes at Parsons, we've been keeping a happy journal for almost a month now. This is one of the classes that I struggle with the most because it's absolutely different from everything I'm used to. However, it's been teaching me how to overcome my lack of creativity and it has made me push the barriers of my daily life.

After spending pretty much all day in bed knitting and listening to music on a rainy New York yesterday, I decided it would be nice to change my now "traditional" Sunday inspiration series of posts for a happy one. After the first week or so of keeping my happy journal I realised that writing down all the little things that make my days happy inspires me much more than anything else in life...

Making some new friends this #Halloween in #newyork

So I thought it could be cool to translate this inspiration into a new weekly series of posts, which is intended to include all the moments that nourish me, that make me happy, that inspire me, that are an experience of love in my daily life. I hope they inspire you as much as they inspire me!

Eating pumpkin ice cream at 40 Carrots
Dreaming of princess palaces with my baby S
Finally making the time to read Balzac
Knitting the warmest scarf

The Village Halloween Parade

After spending pretty much all day trying to decide what to do for Halloween, I ended up going to take pictures of The Village Halloween Parade. I've already mentioned I'm not a big fan of wearing costumes, so I wore a leopard print dress and did my best cat eye and called it a day. I could have worn cat eyes––and this would have made it a little more legit as a costume––but I didn't have any at home...

I decided to go for dinner before the parade started, so I stopped by for a quick sandwich at Grey Dog, which is one of my favourite places near school. It's perfect for a casual lunch/dinner and the place is super cosy. Workers were all dressed up and happily dancing because it was Halloween and we––customers––all got a free treat for dessert before we left!

Then I headed to Sixth Ave to see the parade. There were some really cool costumes, but what I loved the most was the fact that everyone––from young babies to seniors––were dressed their best and got into their roles. I love the holiday spirit!
