Walk New York: Brooklyn Bridge

Walk New York: Brooklyn Bridge

Walk New York: Brooklyn Bridge

To be honest, I tend to avoid touristy places in New York because I'm not a big fan of crowds. However, every once in a while it is good to visit the major landmarks of beautiful New York. On Sunday, after dim sum, I went for a short walk downtown and ended up in Brooklyn Bridge. The last time I had been there was a very long time ago, and I think I had forgotten how beautiful the place is. I'm glad I went back to visit!

Last Days of Fall in New York

Last Days of Fall

After a couple of days with temperatures below zero––Celsius; I still don't learn how to use Fahrenheit degrees––it's pretty obvious that the winter will soon be here, and the city will be covered under white layers of snow. Although the temperature is now too cold to wander around the city, I managed to shoot a few pictures of fall foliage in Central Park before leaving for my weekend retreat.

Although I'm pretty excited about the snow, I am also a little disappointed that the fall went by so quickly. I love seeing the trees covered in shades of orange and red, and adore the perfect weather of the fall. Why couldn't it last longer?!

After almost a week of vacation, I'm finally back with renewed energies and lots of new inspiration!

During my retreat, I had the time to think about life, eat lots and lots––although nothing fancy enough to be photographed––and watch movies in bed with my baby cousin. But most importantly, I had the chance to not worry about school work and prepare for what is to come during finals. I also had the time to find hidden treasures––aka pictures––in my computer and rescue them. Some of my favourites are these from my trip to Mexico in 2012, which happen to match perfectly my retreat destination––and make up for all the pictures I didn't take!

One of my favourite things to do on Thursdays in New York is attending to gallery openings! I truly admire people who dedicate their lives to art, and I really enjoy seeing their creations. Last Thursday, I went to the opening of Vivian Maier exhibition at the Howard Greenberg Gallery (located on 57th and Madison) and loved it!

One of the things that I value the most about this amazing photographer is how she brings attention to the most ordinary objects of our everyday lives and turns them into amazing works of art. I also adore her use of rhythm in her pictures. This exhibition was absolutely stunning and I am really glad I went to see it. I truly recommend visiting if you're in New York!

Street Style: New York Fashion Week Day 4

I think this will be my last article related exclusively to NYFW street style. As much as I've been loving meeting all this beautiful pictures and taking pictures of them, I'm dying to share the details of some of my favourite runway shows with you! And although I definitely would be down to do it all, I have lots of work to do for school and I physically can't. I hope, though, that some day I will be able to do that!

I would say that this day was my favourite, but only because the temperature wasn't as high as the days before, meaning I wasn't melting while trying to concentrate taking good photos. I also got to talk to the most people this day, probably because I finally managed to leave my shyness away and tried to make an effort in actually saying some words to many of the people I took pictures of.

Although in terms of what people were wearing it's hard for me to choose just one day. I really loved the outfits people wore. Why can't I look like them all?
